If our class were to go to any city in France of my choice then I would definitely pick Cannes as my choice. One of the main reasons I would pick Cannes is because of how beautiful it is. Cannes is at the very bottom of France so it has an amazing ocean view that can be seen all over the city. The temperatures are always at a nice warm thirty degrees in summer and has a great twelve hours of sunlight a day, a great change from the weather we've been having here in Sydney lately.
There are also some brilliant tourist attractions we could visit there such as the d'Art et d'Histoire de Provence which is a 18th century mansion that holds artefacts that date back to the prehistoric times. Another magnificent site are the villas of Cannes, there are multiple villas in Cannes that were built many years ago to resemble different types of architecture from history, having the villas being inspired by anything from castles to Roman villas.St Honorat Island would also be a great place to visit, the island is now inhabited by Cistercian monks but is still open to tourists. This would be a interesting place to go to as it contains the ruins of an 11th century monastery.
But the main reason I would like to go to Cannes would definitely have to be for the film festival which is an annual event which previews new films of every single genre from all countries. For example the hit movie "Inglorious Bastards" previewed in Cannes a couple years ago and eventually became highly famous here. Directors, producers and movie stars from all over the world fly to Cannes just to come see this.

As you can see Cannes is a fantastic place and would be an amazing city to see if we go to France. Other than the language difference and the age of some of the buildings, Cannes is actually quite similar to the city of Sydney. We both have warm climates and beautiful beaches and are popular tourist locations.
